James McElhiney, the CTO of Second Rotation, was also at the Boston Ruby Group; they have a service where you can give them your old gadgets, and they sell them for you on EBay. Sounds like a good place for me to get some cash for my unlocked Treo 650 once an iPhone comes out that’s on a faster network . . . Their careers page asks for experience in J2EE and LAMP; wonder if they’re hiring for RoR?

    Hi John,

Second Rotation is most definitely seeking Ruby on Rails Developers! You can see our current job postings on craigslist at http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/sof/398155258.html
    and http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/sof/390525432.html

BTW, Second Rotation buys gadgets directly from consumers. Here’s how the process works:

    1. Quote -> Go to SecondRotation.com and find your device. Answer a couple of quick questions, tell us it’s condition – 1-4 stars – and click “Calculate” – that’s how much we’ll pay you in Cold, Hard Cash.

    2. Ship -> Drop it in a box and call DHL – they’ll come to you to pick it up – No Hassles, and No Charge!

    3. Cash -> When we get it, we do a quick check to make sure all’s well, then Cut you a Check, which’ll be in your mailbox in 2 wks or less. If you’ve already bought something New and Shiny, you’re all done – Enjoy!
